In any ISO management system ensuring that compliance obligations are always fulfilled, is of utmost importance. Form certification point of view it is minimum requirement such that in absence of it, company cannot be certified. Robust system should therefore be developed to achieve this.
There needs to be commitment to comply with, which is mentioned in policy. In periodical management review meeting it is an essential agenda point. While these two points are there in the systems, process of ensuring that compliance obligations are always fulfilled require two processes – identification of applicable legal and other requirement (which together are called compliance obligations) and evaluation of compliance.
Attached herewith in this blog are SOP on compliance obligation and template to facilitate this. In the template, applicable compliance obligations data – EMS system for a fertilizer company and IMS for plastic manufacturing company – are included, as examples.
